Animora’s mission is to improve pets’ health and well-being by providing innovative animal health products.
The values that permeate the company are reflected in our everyday work: our passion for animals motivates us to move the company forward, scientific research is central to our product development strategy, and commitment to our community is essential to us. Indeed, we are proud to renew our product donations to shelters each year and to educate the community about the importance of good dental hygiene in cats and dogs.
Periodontal disease is the most common infectious disease in pets. This disease refers to a group of inflammatory diseases caused by bacteria in dental plaque. Starting at the age of two, nearly 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have it [1]. The prevalence increases with age and is higher in small animals [2].
For treatment to be successful or for effective prevention against this disease, a multidimensional approach must be considered. Indeed, follow-up visits to the veterinarian, in addition to a rigorous home dental hygiene program, are essential. The knowledge and commitment of the owner as well as the co-operation of the animal are key factors for successful hygiene care [3].

This tasty product can be applied in many ways, so you can follow all the steps to brushing your teeth!
Cranberry Dental Gel improves oral health in dogs and cats by preventing bad breath and dental plaque buildup.
The texture of the dental gel has been optimized, making it sticky on the teeth and gums to increase contact time with the oral walls. Pets’ interest in the flavour was an important factor in the development of the product, helping to make the job of administering it as pleasant as possible. The animal can thus make a positive association with the dental gel and the owner will have an easier time maintaining their pet’s oral hygiene.

Developed and manufactured in Canada. Enjoy the benefits of Quebec cranberries, all contained in a tube that was also produced in Quebec.
Proanthocyanidins (PACs) contained in cranberries are recognized as a natural weapon against periodontal diseases. The antibacterial, anti-adherence, anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of cranberry PACs have already been demonstrated in several studies.
Cranberry prevents periodontal pathogens from adhering to the surface of teeth to form plaque that causes most oral diseases. Thus, by preventing the formation of dental plaque, it is possible to prevent its transformation into tartar. In addition, these bacteria are also responsible for bad breath by secreting volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs). Cranberry reduces the virulence factors of periodontopathogenic bacteria, which makes bad bacteria less effective in their infection. It also has anti-inflammatory properties which reduces the gingivitis present and thus make the animal a little more comfortable. Modulation of host inflammation also reduces the destruction of tooth support tissues caused by the aggressive defense of the immune system.

Figure 2. Effect of the cranberry contained in Animora Dental Gel on the adhesion to a hydroxyapatite surface of several bacterial species from the oral cavity of cats and dogs.
The cranberry contained in Animora Dental Gel reduces biofilm formation by more than 50% for two bacterial species, Porphyromonas salivosa and Fusobacterium canifelinum. The concentrations used in the study were 2 and 4 mg/ml respectively, concentrations which is 15 and 7.5 times lower than the concentration found in the Cranberry Dental Gel.
The cranberry contained in Animora Dental Gel reduces the adhesion to a hydroxyapatite surface by up to 76% for several bacterial species from the oral cavity of cats and dogs. The concentration used was 2 mg/ml, a concentration 15 times lower than that found in Cranberry Dental Gel.
This study, carried out using the cranberry contained in the Animora’s Dental Gel, demonstrates its antibacterial potential. This effect was observed both on the biofilm formation and on adhesion to a hydroxyapatite surface of two bacterial genera from the oral cavity of cats and dogs.
Bacterial species belonging to the genera Porphyromonas and Fusobacterium are among the main oral pathogens in cats and dogs. Hydroxyapatite is the main component of teeth, making up 97% of enamel and 70% of dentin.
Cranberry Dental Gel significantly reducesIL6 production by 85% in a three-dimensional model of an oral mucosa equivalent under inflammatory stress.
Cranberry Dental Gel significantly reducesIL6 gene expression by 85% in a three-dimensional model of an oral mucosa equivalent under inflammatory stress.
This study, carried out using oral mucosa equivalents, demonstrates the anti-inflammatory potential of Cranberry Dental Gel. This effect was observed both on gene expression and on the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines.
IL6: Interleukin 6 is a pro-inflammatory cytokine involved in inflammatory and infectious responses. In chronic periodontitis, IL6 is present in large quantities.
